I have felt the shame of my own brokenness and wounds. It feels easier to hide my scars or cover them with makeup, but they are an important part of my story and stories are meant to be shared. The gospel rewrites these stories. The gospel turns scars into tales of beauty.
My husband and I chose 2 Corinthians 4:7 as the theme of our marriage. We joke that we should have paid more attention to the verses that come after it that talk about affliction and suffering!
We have spent much of our life in mission work overseas, and would love to be able to again someday. We are currently back in the US, and my husband works as a substance abuse and mental health counselor while I am a stay at home mom. Our hearts’ desire is to bring glory to God through our jars of clay. May His light shine through!
